On October 31, 1517 Luther’s ’95 theses’ set into motion the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. We will acknowledge this significant 500th anniversary with an extensive 2-part musical journey, tracing Luther’s influence on church liturgy and music of the time, exploring the most illustrious musical heirs to Luther’s reforming zeal, including J.S. Bach, and discussing Luther’s lasting influence on church music right up to our present day.
