as we discuss their book The Wall Between
This book examines the role that propaganda and disinformation play in cementing trauma-induced fears for the purpose of making the task of humanizing and acknowledging the Other not just difficult, but almost inconceivable. The authors utilize recent cognitive research on the psychological and social barriers that keep Jews and Palestinians in their camps, walled off from each other. They present a clear way through, one that is justice-centered rather than trauma- and propaganda-driven.
About Our Guest
Raja Khouri has been active in equity projects for over 20 years. His firm belief in diversity and multiculturalism reflects his principles and efforts to work towards creating a more inclusive, respectful society. Raja is curator of Khouri Conversations(opens in a new tab), a forum for promoting intercultural understanding. Jeffrey Wilkinson(opens in a new tab) has been a facilitator centering on issues of equity, social justice, and inclusive education for over 25 years. His PhD dissertation explores the Israel/Palestine conflict through the experiences of Canadian Jews and Palestinians.
